Open Year Round

Thorntree River Lodge lies within the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park on the banks of the Zambezi River. Less than half an hour up-stream from the Victoria Falls it is easily accessible from either Livingstone Airport or Zimbabwe’s Victoria Falls Airport. Recently rebuilt and renovated the lodge has been nestled into her natural surroundings with flair. After a day of exciting activities relax by the main infinity pool with a drink and enjoy the views over the rushing waters.

Children of all ages are welcome and the kids’ Ngwana Club will ensure hours of fun for your children.

The area has a huge diversity of activities suitable for adults and children alike. Rhino tracking on foot for White Rhino is one of the most memorable experiences for your children. The Rhino are protected around the clock by armed rangers and quite habituated to having people around them.

Thorntree River Lodge has eight double or twin suites as well as two family units. The standard suites are identical in design while the family suites are connected with a passageway making them ideal for families with younger children. Each suite is built onto a raised deck with brick walls and a canvas roof.

The suites can be made up with twin or king sized beds in a four poster frame and walk in mosquito net. Each suite has a small seating area to one side as well as sliding glass doors that lead out onto a private deck and plunge pool that overlooks the river. The en-suite bathrooms are spacious with dressing room, plenty of storage space and a vanity area with twin hand basins. The bathrooms have a deep bath that has views to the bush outside as well as an indoor shower and a glass door leads to the second outdoor shower.
