Overlooking the Talek River on the border of the Masai Mara National Reserve, Tipilikwani Mara Camp is a large tented camp with a small foot bridge that takes guests across into the main reserve. The camp is close to one of the main migration river crossings making it an ideal location for all the action.

From the reception area stone floors lead you to the main lounge and dining area of the camp. This spacious thatched building is open at the sides and with the locally inspired furniture and décor it is a welcome place to relax with your meals.

There is a spa and swimming pool for those looking for pampering or to cool off in the heat of the day. Daily game drives as well as walking safaris are the focus at Tipilikwani, full day drives in the reserve can be booked as well. Local village visits offer fascinating insights into the local culture.

Tented Rooms

Tipilikwani Mara Camp has 20 rooms that are well spaced and private. 18 of these are standard size with a spacious bedroom and bathroom and can be double or twin beds. Two family tents are full size tents connected by a large deck, one has a double bed and the other twin beds. Each has their own en-suite bathroom.

All of the tents are raised off the ground on wooden decks providing excellent views. The en-suite bathrooms are separated from the room with a curtain and all have twin vanity basins, shower, toilet and toiletries.

Tipilikwani Mara Camp can be combined with Elephant Bedroom Camp, Mbweha Camp or Saruni Wild.

How to get there

Fly In

Fly in to Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport with Egypt Air, Swiss Air, Lufthansa, KLM, Turkish Airlines, Emirates or Qatar Airways.

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by your safari representative who will drive you to Wilson Airport and assist you onto a light aircraft for your flight to Ol Kiombo airstrip.

You will be met by your guide for the 45 minute game drive to camp.
