Description
Toka Leya Lodge
Victoria Falls
Open Year Round
Looking out over several small islands in the Zambezi River, Toka Leya is nestled within the riverine vegetation of Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. The lodge is the ideal location pre or post your safari in the bush. If you are jet lagged it’s perfect to recover here before heading into the bush.
The camp is a mere 5 kilometers upstream of the Victoria Falls and provides easy access to a variety of activities such as Rhino walks, white water rafting, Livingstone Island and game drives. Helicopter and micro-light flights are the perfect way to experience the incredible geology of the Batoka Gorge.
The main guest area is reached on raised wooden walkways to protect the environment and overlooks one of the river’s main channels. A large open plan lounge and dining area are the focal points here and tree trunks reach up through the decking creating a warm and natural feel. There is extensive deck space here housing the bar and an infinity swimming pool.
Safari Tents
The camp has 12 very spacious tents, elegantly decorated, as well as 3 family tents. Sliding doors lead out onto a wide deck with sunken seating and fantastic views out over the river. The rooms are all open plan lounge and bedroom with a small desk.
Beds are all four poster draped with mosquito nets. The en-suite bathrooms have twin vanity basins with large mirrors, toilet and both an indoor and outside shower. Family tents are of the same design but have an additional bedroom at the rear and shares the bathroom.
