Uganda’s Wildest Places
Entebbe | Kidepo Valley | Semliki | Bwindi
Your safari starts and ends in Entebbe.
Landing in Entebbe your first impression will be of complete surprise at the cleanliness of this African country. Uganda truly is a land of contrasts and colours. Spend one night at Laico Lake Victoria Hotel at this delightful venue before the action begins. The next morning a light aircraft will fly you to the far North East of Uganda and the Kidepo Valley.
The Kidepo Valley has been voted as the third best safari park in Africa and one of Uganda’s wildest places. Views stretch endlessly to the horizon and the plains are dotted with animals. The terrain of the park is only broken by the Narus Valley in the South West and the Kidepo Valley in the North East. Most of the wildlife is concentrated in the Narus Valley. elephant, Buffalo, Giraffe and many more mammals can be seen. Predators include Lion, Leopard, Cheetah and Hyena.
Semliki Valley Wildlife Reserve is the oldest protected reserve in Kenya and is home to abundant predators and other game. The lodge is nestled on the Wassa River with sweeping views. A boat excursion on Lake Albert in search of Shoebills is an extraordinary experience.
From Semliki and on to Bwindi and the exceptional Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge where you will spend two days embarking on gorilla treks with experienced guides. The gorilla families move quite often but the effort is well worth the magical experience of spending time with these creatures.
While sightings are never guaranteed and are strictly controlled the chances are better than 95% that you will find them and spend time in their presence.
