Vuma Hills Tented Camp
Mikumi National Park
Open All Year
Located just six kilometers from the park gate, Vuma Hills Tented Camp enjoys an elevated vantage point that overlooks the Mkata Plains of Mikumi National Park. Arriving at Mikumi airstrip we enjoyed some great sightings of Roan antelope and other plains game en route to the lodge.
Activities at Vuma Hills focus on morning and afternoon game drives and walking safaris can be done later in the season when the grasses are shorter. The real treat is once the sun sets and all the nocturnal animals come out. The camp attracts Bush Babies, Honey badger, Porcupine, Civet, Genets and Mongoose.
The main guest area is home to a very cozy log fire and lounge area, the dining room is quite open and as the sun sets views from here are incredible. The decking is expansive and stretches out to overlook the swimming pool and is a great location for lunch and dinner under the stars.
Tented Rooms
The sixteen tented rooms at Vuma Hills are all connected to the main guest area by stone paths and disabled access is in place. Each room is set amongst dense bush with stunning views over the plains from the deck at the front of each.
The tents are all raised off the ground and lie under a thatched roof that protects the tents. Simple décor defines the tents along with two single beds or a double. There are also two day beds at the entrance to each tent. The en-suite bathroom has a clay hand basin, toilet and shower.
