Safari Starts in Harare, Zimbabwe, and ends in Livingstone, Zambia.
Arriving in Harare you will be jetting off to the infamous Mana Pools in the far North of this beautiful country. As a RAMSAR wetland site, an Important Birding Area and World Heritage Site this area of Zimbabwe is absolutely incredible. Wildlife right at your doorstep and wandering by as you relax on your deck during the heat of the day.
Walking safaris first started in Zambia in the early 1930’s by Norman Carr and today they are the very best way to experience the fragile systems that are intertwined so beautifully to support every creature. In the early mornings you will be woken with tea and coffee before setting off with your guide to discover the intricacies of the African bush.
Spending a good six nights in Mana Pools really allows you to immerse yourself in the experience of Africa, walking an simply being at one with your environment. Two nights at Bumi Hills on Lake Kariba gives you the chance to relax a little and game view from a boat or simply lie back on the deck and enjoy the fantastic scenery as views lead all the way to the horizon.

Fly In to Harare
Fly in to Harare with British Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Emirates, South African Airways or Kenya Airways.
On your arrival in Harare you will be met by your safari representative who will assist you onto your lights aircraft for the flight to Mana Pools.
Fly Out of Livingstone

Full Itinerary
Day 1 – 3 : Mana Pools
(Starting Wednesdays or Saturdays)
Start this incredible Mana Pools walking safari with a night at Kanga Camp. Kanga is located in one of the most remote parts of Mana Pools National Park inland of the river, providing a unique way to experience the National Park. The camp is set on a permanent water pan, which brings a variety of animals to your doorstep so that you can settle into your holiday in style.
Day 3 – 4 : Zambezi Shoreline Walking
After a relaxing evening at Kanga Camp, start your adventure through the vlei lines, floodplains and Mana Pools hideaways. Take part in a true mobile tented safari experience and camp along the beautiful Zambezi River. A walking safari is the most authentic and rich way to experience the land and get in touch with your surroundings. This on-foot safari allows you to explore the wonders of nature up close, from the tiniest insect to the mighty elephants that roam the valley.
Day 4 – 5 : Zambezi Expeditions
Zambezi Expeditions showcases one of the most magnificent settings in Zimbabwe’s iconic Mana Pools National Park. Fall asleep to the sound of the flowing river and chuckles of hippo and wake-up with the dawn chorus to a spectacular African sunrise. This paradise allows you to connect with nature in a deep and meaningful way.
Day 5 – 6 : Zambezi Shoreline Walking
Set off walking along the river, admiring everything Mana Pools has to offer. From the variety of waterbird species along the river banks to the packs of wild dogs and herds of elephant that frequent the area, there is something to experience around every turn.
Day 6 – 8 : Nyamatusi Camp
Nyamatusi Camp is set in one of the wildest and most remote parts of Mana Pools, on the banks of one of the Zambezi River. Nyamatusi allows guests to experience an authentic view of the old untouched Africa with a touch of luxury. Inspired by the traditional custodians of the land who respected the river as the source of life, the design of the camp subtly incorporates the element of water and pays homage to the astounding beauty of the mighty Zambezi River.
Day 8 – 10 : Bumi Hills
Perched on the hills above Lake Kariba is Bumi Hills Safari Lodge and taking centre stage at the lodge is the beautiful infinity pool that seems to blend endlessly into the lake’s horizon. This scenic lodge is the perfect place to relax and enjoy sundowners after a day spent on game drives and bush walks.
Day 10 – 13 : Thorntree River Lodge
Thorntree River Lodge is the perfect place to complete your safari. Experience the breathtaking Victoria Falls in all its wonder, walk with the rhinos in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, enjoy a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River, or simply relax and unwind at the spa.
