Your safari starts and ends in Entebbe

Wilderness and water explores the most serene and magical destinations that Uganda has to offer. A night in Entebbe provides a brief glimpse into the lifestyles and culture of the average citizen and a restful night after your international flights.

In the morning you are returned to the airport for a domestic flight to the Kidepo Valley in the far North East of the country. This is close to the Sudanese border and the scenery is absolutely incredible! Endless savanna rolling all the way to the horizon interspersed with Elephant, Buffalo and Giraffe. Apoka Safari Lodge is on a slight hill and views from every part of the lodge will captivate you.

Bakers Lodge in the West of Uganda is idyllic. Explore the Murchison Falls and the Nile River on boats and on foot. Climb to the top of the falls for the views and the incredible rush of water through this narrow fissure. Set on the banks of the river, Bakers Lodge is warming your holiday up with adrenaline.

Kyaninga Lodge has the backdrop of Kyaninga Lake and the legendary Mountains of the Moon in the distance. Enjoy scenic walks and Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is the home of giants. This is the perfect location for your Gorilla trek. Enjoy a boat ride on Lake Mutanda before discovering Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge for the next two nights. Visit the local communities, a full day of trekking into the forests in search of Gorilla. After all this excitement, fly back to Entebbe and your return flights home.

How to Get There

Fly In

You can fly directly into Entebbe with KLM, Kenya Airways, Qatar, Ethiopian Airlines, Turkish Airlines or South African Airways.

On your arrival in Entebbe you will be met by your safari representative who will assist you with luggage and transfer you to your first nights accommodation.

Full Itinerary

Day 1 – Boma Guest House

Arrive at Entebbe Airport. Meet and greet by your Driver/Guide who will transfer you to your accommodation in Entebbe (+/-15 minutes).

Overnight at the Boma Guest House (BB).

Day 2 – Apoka Safari Lodge

Transfer by road to Bugungu Airstrip (+/- 30 minutes) for a scheduled flight to Kidepo Valley National Park (13h45/14h45). Evening game drive / walk.

Overnight at Apoka Safari Lodge (FB + non-premium-brand drinks and activities).

Day 3 – Apoka Safari Lodge

Game activities in Kidepo and visit to Lorukul Village.

Overnight at Apoka Safari Lodge (FB + non-premium-brand drinks and activities).

Day 4 – Bakers Lodge

Transfer by road for 2 hours to Kasese Airstrip for a scheduled flight to Entebbe Airport (10h20/11h25) and then connect onto a scheduled flight to Bugungu Airstrip (12h30/13h30). Pickup by a lodge representative on arrival who will transfer you to Bakers Lodge (+/- 30 minutes). Evening game drive.

Day 5 – Bakers Lodge

Morning game drive to Northern side of the park. Afternoon boat excursion in Murchison Falls National Park – Boat ride with a walk to the top of the falls.

Day 6 – Kyaninga Lodge

Transfer by road for 2 hours to Kisoro Airstrip for a scheduled flight to Kasese Airstrip (08h25/10h05) and then drive to Fort Portal (the drive will take -/+ 2 hours.) Your home for the next two nights is Kyaninga Lodge, set against a backdrop of Kyaninga Lake with the legendary Mountains of the Moon in the distance. Enjoy a 3-hour walk to the “Top of the World” in the afternoon.

Day 7 – Kyaninga Lodge

After breakfast, you will go for Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park. In the afternoon, you will enjoy the Bigodi Swamp walk.

Day 8 – Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge

Early morning pickup at 06h00 from your hotel and transfer to Entebbe Airport (+/- 15 minutes) for a scheduled flight to Kisoro (07h45/08h55). Pick up from Kisoro Airstrip and transfer by road for 2 hours to Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge in the southern sector of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. In the afternoon, visit the Community in Nkuringo village.

Day 9 – Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge

Full day Gorilla tracking in the Nkuringo area (depending on gorilla permit availability)

Overnight at Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge (FB + non-premium brand drinks).

Day 10 – Departure

Transfer to the Kisoro Airstrip for a scheduled flight to Entebbe Airport (15h00/16h30). Stay at Entebbe Airport and connect to your outbound International flight.

Included:

  • Meals as specified in the (hotels in Entebbe are B&B)
  • Drinks as stipulated in itinerary
  • Accommodation as stipulated in the itinerary
  • Water in the vehicle for overland sectors
  • Charter or scheduled flights, inclusive of airport taxes where applicable, as specified in the itinerary
  • NB: Baggage restriction of 15kgs per person (no more) is applicable on all flights in small, soft-sided bags. This includes hand luggage. Extra luggage will incur a charge of $3 per kg, per sector, to be paid directly to the airline upon check-in.
    NB: Certain routings have restrictions on schedules and have minimum numbers: details will be confirmed upon booking
  • All ground transportation and transfers as indicated, which are inclusive of fuel
  • Activities as stipulated in the itinerary
  • Game drives in a shared 4-wheel drive vehicle at Lodges where indicated
