Description

Xigera Camp

Okavango Delta

Xigera Camp is located in one of the most stunning areas of the Okavango Delta. Nestled under a canopy of Ebony trees and perched on an island the camp is spacious. Each guest suite is connected to the main area by raised wooden walkways quite high off the ground. Views over the lagoon as the sun rises are quite exceptional and teems with wildlife.

Elephant, hippo and buffalo are regular visitors to the camp and with the walkways situated so high off the ground its possible to walk right over them, though, the elephant need space and respect.

The main area of Xigera is a very spacious dining area looking out over a channel with a small bridge connecting the island to the mainland. Mokoro rides depart directly from camp. Depending on water levels motorboats may also but if the water is low this is a short drive from the camp itself. Game drives in the mornings and evenings are very rewarding with good sightings of lion, wild dogs, elephant, buffalo and other plains game.

Suites are situated on the edge of the lagoon with beautiful sunrises from each one. Spacious with a private deck as well as en suite bathrooms and indoor and outdoor showers. A small curio shop is also behind the main area. Morning and evening game drives as well as mokoro and boating excursions make Xigera an excellent destination for experiencing the Okavango. Fishing is also available on a catch and release basis.

Xigera Camp is well spaced ensuring guests have great privacy while on their African safari in the Okavango. The area has an excellent diversity of water and land based game viewing, excellent birding and great fishing in some of the deep pools.
