Xugana Lagoon – Okavango Delta

Xugana Island Lodge on the banks of Xugana Lagoon is well known as the most magnificent lodge and location in the entire Okavango Delta. With it’s origin in the Eastern highlands of Angola the Okavango River creates an immense oasis where the waters drain into the dry sands of the Kalahari desert. Here the deserts thirst is sated as small lagoons and waterholes that support the wildlife.

Located within a private concession Xugana Island Lodge is able to make full use of its incredible location and the surrounding area. A large deck is well used for dinners under the stars and overlooks the crisp, clear waters of the lagoon. The open sided lounge, bar and dining areas are nestled under a grove of Ebony and Mangosteen trees’ creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere. A swimming pool is situated in the grounds of the lodge, shaded, it’s a perfect place to sun tan and relax.

Catch and release fishing for Bream and Tiger fish is also possible as an additional activity (season dependent).

With just eight suites and sixteen guests in camp, it creates an exclusive and privileged feel. The lagoon facing chalets all have private decks with beautifully decorated en-suite bathrooms. Children from 6 years and older are welcome.

Guests are able to explore the crystal clear waters by mokoro or motorboat to experience the incredible variety of birds, plants and reptiles that this area is well known for. Walking safaris, game drives and night drives are also possible.
